UKTN is pleased to announce that it is an official media partner of Wales Tech Week, the go-to tech event showcasing and championing Welsh tech innovation.
The summit will provide an opportunity for tech industry stakeholders from across the world to network with investors, entrepreneurs and international industry leaders.
The event will take place at the ICC Wales in Cardiff on 20-22 March 2023, while a virtual exhibition will continue until 31 March.
This year’s event has three key themes: tech for good, tech for the planet and tech for tomorrow. It will provide an opportunity for startups to pitch and connect forward-thinking businesses and organisations.
The exhibition floor will have dedicated zones for fintech, semiconductors, blockchain, cybersecurity and much more.
Launched by Technology Connected in 2020 as a virtual event, Wales Tech Week has evolved into a hybrid event attracting business people from across the world.
Avril Lewis MBE, managing director for Technology Connected, said: “We are thrilled that UKTN is joining us as a media partner for Wales Tech Week 2023. With the current economic climate, understandably businesses are focused on how technologies can enable them to not only survive, but thrive in the future.”
Lewis added: “Having UKTN as a media partner is key to shining a spotlight on how the diverse and dynamic Welsh tech industry and its supporting ecosystem can be a fundamental asset to any business and organisation as they charter their current challenges.”

Last year’s event attracted 1,500 registered attendees from 47 countries and more than 900 companies. A survey of 2021’s event found that 80% of attendees came away with an enhanced view of the Welsh tech industry.
Previous speakers include Warren East Rolls Royce CEO Warren East, OLIO co-founder and CEO Tessa Clarke, and Wise chair Trudy Norris-Grey.
“I’m incredibly excited that UKTN is partnering with Wales Tech Week 2023. The regional innovation taking place up and down the UK is a crucial part of our coverage – and what better example of that than the thriving tech ecosystem in Wales,” said Robert Scammell, editor, UKTN.
“The fact that last year’s event attracted attendees from Australia – 9,551 miles from Wales – is a testament to the international pull of Wales Tech Week and the country itself as a tech hub. I’m looking forward to listening to the stellar lineup of speakers and reporting on the emerging trends that come out of the event.”
In addition to showcasing the tech disruption happening across Wales, the summit will include roundtable discussions; exclusive product, brand and report launches; along with access to business support programmes.
“We know that 2023 will have its challenges, but also its opportunities,” added Lewis. “Wales Tech Week has been created for businesses who are working in or developing new technologies, those organisations interested in how technology can transform their business, and those who are just ‘tech curious’. It is the place to connect, collaborate and do business; it is where tech meets opportunity.”
